Melanin in Orange: Skin tone Henny straight with a splash of Orange
I’ve always enjoyed wearing bright colored clothing, the color Orange makes me feel like boom you see me, you see this outfit, it’s most likely an outfit I’ve been waiting to wear for the right occasion. I feel loud(er), too hot to trot, and tropical (you know i love an island).
NOW Orange make-up is a whole other story…
I’ve always loved how orange makeup looks on other skin complexions but once again never thought I could pull it off on my complexion.
One thing that living colorfully has taught me is to not knock anything till I try it!
Here’s the thing: You know how you have that random eyeshadow probably from MAC because they always get you to purchase something you never thought to buy and don’t end up using till its expired, yeah, that’s my orange eyeshadow story smh.
I didn’t end up using the orange eyeshadow for this shoot but I did use a white and orange eyeliner both by NYX which took me forever to complete but the results turned out amazing. I never thought to ever try a white eyeliner, and now I’m like I need to somehow implement this into my makeup looks asap! It’s popping!!!!
Then THE hair…
When I see black women with orange hair, it looks so bomb!
But Lady Adelaide with orange hair, chile, another risk, well this is the point of Living Colorfully which is to step outside of comfort zones. Remembering that once again you can’t be held back due to fear or what society isn’t comfortable with.
Quick Tip: I’m sure you know but If you want to try a hair color without fully committing to it by dying your real hair Go with a wig or color OLD hair extensions!
I decided to color some old bundles of kinky hair using Adore Sunrise Orange hair color. Since I wasn’t coloring my real hair I kept the roots dark so it blended better.
I played around, tried something new, and BOOM I absolutely love this hair color on my complexion. It’s a pop that compliments my skin and may cause some head to turns but honestly anything I wear that’s bright results in stares.
Orange is associated with…
joy | warmth | sunshine | heat | abundance
Orange also represents…
energy | enthusiasm | fascination | happiness | creativity | determination | energetic | attraction | sexuality | success | encouragement
Of course orange is associated with FALL! Halloween, thanksgiving, pumpkins, all dat!
‘Channel Orange’ Hey Frank Ocean!
Out of the 7 chakras Orange represents the second Chakra or the SACRAL chakra located in the lower abdomen. The Sacral chakra represents sexual organs, sensuality, creativity, vitality, and to increase sexual potency (boom chika waa-wow)
It was so much fun to experiment with Orange and now i’m addicted to seeing what other colors look like on my skin tone. Plus, I can say I’ve tried orange hair color and makeup and I love it especially and you should try it too!
